For which weighing applications can the weighing modules be used?

The weighing modules can be used for any type of scale construction. They are ideal for mounting on silo feet or under containers and other structures.

Why are mounting modules useful?

When using shear-force load cells, the horizontal offset of the applied force generates the necessary bending moment in the load cell for measurement. However, this bending moment must be neutralized by the structure to which the load cell is attached. This means that the area where the load cell is attached must be robust enough to safely absorb this bending moment without bending or tensioning. The base of a silo is usually not designed to handle this, so the weighing module takes over this task. Additionally, the module allows the silo to be secured to the ground to prevent tipping.

How strong is the lifting protection designed?

The Agris weighing modules' lifting protection is integrated into the load cell and load introduction itself, and is limited to the maximum load of the load cell. The module is therefore not suitable for large silos in outdoor areas where strong wind forces are expected.

By how much will the silo height increase with the weighing modules?

Due to the compact design of the load introduction, the total height of the module, depending on the attachment settings, is only between 95 and 110 mm. The entire structure will increase in height by this amount.

How are the weighing modules mounted on a silo?

For a silo, a weighing module is mounted under each foot. The base plate, which previously supported the silo foot on the ground, is now placed onto the round disc of the weighing module and screwed into place. Elongated holes are provided for this purpose. The load cell itself is attached to the base plate and the silo foot with screws.
